The forum rules! I'll keep this short for the time being with addendums as needed. A special note: Media Render Evolution board is not held to these rules. These are just for the rest of the forum!
A. SWEARING 1. I'd like to keep swearing under relative control. If you are in the heat of the moment and swear a bit, we'll let it slide, but if you're swearing constantly then we'll have to say something. Stay away from dropping the F-bomb at all costs though. Think about what you're posting before you post it. I don't want anyone being driven from joining and posting because of swearing.
B. DOUBLE POSTING 1. While not a major issue, just try to remember to edit your posts as opposed to double posting. It appears better and keeps things looking more organized.
C. MOD WORD IS LAW* 1. Obey the Mods. If you disagree with their ruling, you may make private contact with the Mods or myself, via PM, and your case will be reviewed. Don't go raising Hell in a forum topic; such action will likely lead to AT LEAST a temporary ban.
D. USE DECENT ENGLISH GRAMMAR AND SPELLING 1. It is expected that you know the basics of grammar and spelling. We understand mistakes happen, but be aware that Word contains spelling and grammar checks. When in doubt, use Word and spell check. It makes you look intelligent and makes the boards easier for all to use. A post you can't read is spam.
2. This is an English board. While I will not tolerate discrimination of those who do not speak English, you should learn the basics of the language before posting. We are understanding people though. Mistakes are ok, so don't be afraid to post even if English isn't your best language.
E. IMAGE POSTING 1. Let's keep image posting under control. You want to toss up an image in your post, that's cool, but don't go wild. Try to keep the images about 300x300. Over that is fine, the biggest issue is don't break the tables, so the 300x300 rule is good to keep in mind. If need be, scale it down/crop it. Photobucket has tools for doing that.
2. Keep your images relatively clean. As I said before, I'd like to keep a general content limit of about PG-13. I want this to be a place for many different people to gather and share their thoughts. Let's not scare people off with any explicit imagery.
F. AVATARS** 1. You may have an avatar that fallows the content guidelines.
2. We may have an image bank of avatars at some point. For the time being, use Photobucket or Image Shack to host your own.
3. Avatars should be no bigger than 100x100. Animated avatars are fine, but be mindful of the file size. I might put a concrete cap on the file size, but for now, just use your own judgment.
G. SIGNATURES** 1. You may have a signature at the end of your post. Follow the content guidelines.
2. Sigs should stay in the 500x500 range. A little more is ok, but again, be mindful of your size. No file size cap, yet. Animated sigs are alright but don't go overboard, again, I'll trust the community to make good judgment for now.
3. If you use text, please limit to only 3 lines of text OR an image and 1 line of text.
H. FLAMMING 1. DON'T. If you get into a disagreement, that's one thing, but don't go verbally bashing each other over the interwebs. This is the internet; it's not always serious business.
I. OTHER GENERAL CONTENT GUIDLEINES 1. NO PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL. No exceptions. Violations will result in immediate banishment.
2. Keep it PG-13. Should be self-explanatory. For clarification, keep the swearing under control. 3. Do not discriminate. We are all equal here.
4. All images and links should follow these guidelines.
J. DISCLAIMER
1. Raucious Underground claims no liability. The forums are like the outdoors- You could run into anything and it probably smells funny. You may find someone who disagrees with you or your way of thinking/values. You run into that in real life. If you have a serious issue, contact either myself or a Mod and we'll review the situation. We want this to be a productive and entertaining place for everyone.
2. It is not recommended that children join the boards. Remember, PG-13. Parents and guardians should join their children under the age of 18 (eighteen) whenever they use the internet. Again, we claim no liability if you decide to not monitor your children. It's up to you to be the parent, not us.
3. These rules can be changed at anytime. We will make amendments when needed. Above all, treat each other the way you want to be treated and let's all play nice. The less we have to step in, the better.
K. QUESTIONS and FOOTNOTES 1. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, contact a mod or myself. We don't bite.
*I, the Admin, have the power to contradict the Mods. I alone hold this power and will not exercise it except in the case of a very serious matter. I trust my Mods, you should too.
**We hold the power to remove you avatar or sig should we find it in violation. We might also contact you and request you remove or change your avatar or sig if we find it presents a problem. We have the power to revoke these and other privileges if you do not conform to the forums guidelines.
L. PUNISHMENTS 1. I'd like to stick to a 3-strikes system. Warning, warning/ potential temp ban, PERMA-BAN. Let's not ever get to that third strike.
2. This is only a template for punishment and the actual sentencing will be handled on a case by case basis. Some cases are worthy of an instant PERMA-BAN.
3. Some minor infractions won't warrant the PERMA-BAN. We will make that choice. Don't ever make us have to PERMA-BAN you.
I can be contacted via spectre_200 (at) hotmail [dot com] if you feel you were wrongly banned. Please use an appropriate subject in the subject line or else your message will be ignored. For all other issues, please use the board to send me a private message.
